It's Official - NJ Tattoo Shops Ordered to Close.
As of 8pm tonight, Thursday March 19, 2020, Governor Phil Murphy has officially ordered all personal-care businesses to close, including barber shops and hair salons, spas, nail and eyelash salons, as well as tattoo shops.
This comes as no shock to the tattoo industry and community as they began bracing for the possibility of a shutdown last week with rumors swirling all around.
Officials in the NJ state governing body saw the pressing issues with social distancing and cited personal-care businesses' inability to adhere to and comply with social distancing guidelines as the main reason for the shutdown.
No one can really blame the state government for taking such actions in their quest to flatten to curve and keep the citizens of our great state safe. There are many questions to be asked about the severity of the virus and the economical repercussions it will have, but the most pressing question on everyone's mind is: how long will this last?
No one knows for sure and we can do is listen to the medical professionals and our governing bodies and stay safe!
