Tattooing in the Time of Covid-19

Updated: Apr 12, 2020

Well, obviously there isn't any formal tattooing going on in the time of Covid-19, and we are all well aware of the reasons why. Such uncertain times have thrusted all of us into uncharted waters which I can only hope we are all treading cautiously and optimistically. So a big question through all of this is, "What's in store for the tattoo industry and community once the quarantine is lifted and we can return to our not-so-normal lives?"

The New Normal

Change is uncomfortable. It's often scary and leaves us with a feeling of dread and anxiety. Well, you're not alone in this new normal; we are all in this together, whether we like it or not. We are all experiencing something that has never happened before in our lifetime, and as far as I can see, most of us are banding together supporting each other and doing our best to stay sane - keep going, there is light at the end of this tunnel, I promise!

Light at the End of the Tunnel

No one knows exactly when this will all end - it could take a while, but one thing is for sure: the tattoo industry and community will once again thrive and grow and prosper! Once we are (cautiously) free of this pandemic, people will return to work and the economy will spike and things will pick up, just as they had been before the quarantine and shutdowns.

Artists will be reinvigorated and collectors will be itching to get some new ink.

The sun will rise and set, the earth will travel around the sun and once again we hear the buzz of the machine and feel the burn of the needle etching memories into our skin for all eternity (unless of course you get some laser removal, then of course it's only for a little while). Stay safe, healthy, and vigilant!
